BALANCE

Balance is the fundamental law of the universe that governs the result of all cause and effect in the relationship, interaction and connection of all elements. All things are connected in this web of relations and interactions. It was there, is there and will be there. Only we may not see, recognize or know its existence.

It is this force that creates the paradox in our world. The surface of a basin of water is perfectly mirror like still until an external disturbance interacts with it. The larger the interaction, the larger the ripples and it settles back into that perfect mirror like still when left undisturbed.

Where there is COLD, there is a corresponding HOT elsewhere. Where there is a HIGH, there will be a corresponding LOW elsewhere. Where there are ACTIONS, there is STILLNESS elsewhere. The list goes on.

Likewise, within us, we have a desire for WARM when we feel COLD. We desire REST when we had LABOURED. We desire QUITE time after getting HYPE. The higher EXPECTATION we have the higher the DISAPPOINTMENT. The more we CHASE the less we GETS and vice versa. This happens naturally without us learning. Only quietly waiting for us to discover the connection between our physical and our mind.

We experience the same when we cycles except it is 100% real. Not something we read about, heard about or imagine with our thoughts.

When we take, we are giving away something at the same time. When we run away from something, we are attracting something else at the same time. Only most often not to our awareness.

In cycling, when we want to reach our destination faster, we reach slower or maybe not at all. The more we want to quickly get over that hill to shorten the ‘suffering’, the more we suffer. The more we hammer on the pedal to push that power the less power gets onto the ground. The more lightweight bike we chase to get efficient, the more energy we expands. The more we carries for creature comfort, the less comfortable we gets when riding.

Health has 2 components, the physical and the mind. Yet they are connected, having an effect on each other. Happiness is a state of the MIND but without a healthy body the mind will not achieve the state of happiness. Our body will only be healthy when it is balanced and together with a balanced mind we arrive at the state of happiness. Without that, we will drift in and out of happiness when the conditions were right.

We discover Balance when we rides a bicycle. First, Left to Right, and we discovers more elements to balance as we expands our discipline of cycling. A discovery of one faculty of Balance leads to the discovery of another faculty of Balance as we continues on the path of taking on new faculties and achieving balance. This leads to Growth.

Balance is achieved through iterations of trying and validation with Balance as the goal. As unique as each of us are, everyone is different. There is no prescription, only to be discovered and refined through practice by ourselves.
