Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival
Meet Adventure Lead at OSAKA airport, unpack your bike and store bike bag at Airport storage. Transfer to Ferry Terminal to take an overnight luxury Cruise to Imabari. Meet for a group dinner before boarding the Cruise. Relax and enjoy the cruise before turning in for a good night’s rest.

Day 2 Imabari to Kanoji
Well rested and after breakfast onboard the Cruise, start your Epic Adventure heading North along the West Coast to Kanoji. Beginning from EHIME prefecture, we will cycle into KAGAWA prefecture on the northeast of Shikoku Island, between the Sanuki Mountains in the south and the island-dotted Seto Inland Sea in the north. This is also the end point of the Shikoku Pilgrimage route, which passes 88 Buddhist temples. After checking-In to the hotel, take the rest of the afternoon checking out the surrounds of the town and meet for a team dinner and exchange the day’s experience with other team members before retiring for a good night’s rest.

Day 3 Kanoji to Takamatsu
After a hearty breakfast, continue cycling North to Takamatsu. The capital port city home to the feudal Takamatsu Castle and Ritsurin Garden, a landscaped park built in the Edo period, with koi ponds and a teahouse. After checking-In to the hotel, take the rest of the afternoon checking out the surrounds of the town and meet for a team dinner and exchange the day’s experience with other team members before retiring for a good night’s rest.

Day 4 Takamatsu to Naruto
After a hearty breakfast, continue cycling to the northernmost town of Naruto. After the past 2 days cycling in KAGAWA prefecture, today, we set foot in TOKUSHIMA prefecture. Linked by bridge to mainland Honshu. It’s the traditional starting point of an island-wide pilgrimage route. Day 5 Naruto to Mugi
After breakfast, continue heading South along the East Coast to Mugi. Continue exploring TOKUSHIMA known for its remote Iya Valley, part of Tsurugisan Quasi-National Park, has steep gorges, river rapids and vine suspension bridges. After checking-In to the hotel, take the rest of the afternoon checking out the surrounds of the town and meet for a team dinner and exchange the day’s experience with other team members before retiring for a good night’s rest.

Day 6 Mugi to Nahari
Continue South along the East Coast to Nahari. Today, we enter KOCHI, the 3rd prefecture of this adventure around SHIKOKU. Day 7 Nahari to Kochi
Continue South along the East Coast to Kochi, the capital city of KOCHI prefecture. Known for its mountains, rivers and its pacific coast, KOCHI is the rural prefecture of SHIKOKU. Enjoy and be awed by its natural beauty for the next few days. After checking-In to the hotel, take the rest of the afternoon checking out the surrounds of the town and meet for a team dinner and exchange the day’s experience with other team members before retiring for a good night’s rest.

Day 10 Nakamura to Tatsukushi
Today we continue to the Southern most tip of SHIKOKU, through Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park, checking in on Cape Ashizuri and the nearby lighthouse before ending the day at Tatsukushi. Day 11 Tatsukushi to Kashiwazaki
Continue along the Coast heading West. Today we enters EIHME, the 4th and the last prefecture of this around SHIKOKU adventure. We will rest the night at Kashiwazaki before exploring the remaining EIHME. Day 12 Kashiwazaki to Yawatahama
Today we continue exploring the rugged South Western coast of EHIME before retiring for the day at Yawatahama. (Optional) Follow the Southern Coastline with an additional 30km distance. Day 13 Yawatahama to Matsuyama
Turning North, continue to Matsuyama, the capital city of EHIME, known for its central Dōgo Onsen Honkan bathhouse, dating from the Meiji Period, with ornate, tiered wooden buildings. This is also where you will see dozens of smaller islands in the Seto Inland Sea. After checking-In to the hotel, take the rest of the afternoon checking out the surrounds of the town and meet for a team dinner and exchange the day’s experience with other team members before retiring for a good night’s rest.

Day 14 Matsuyama to Imabari
Today we continue heading North along the remaining West Coast back to Imabari to take an overnight luxury Cruise back to OSAKA. We will have a team dinner before boarding the Cruise to spend the rest of the evening relaxing onboard, exchanging the day’s experience with other team members and retiring for a good night’s rest.

Day 15 Depart OSAKA or Extend
After an early breakfast onboard the Cruise, we disembark and transfer to OSAKA airport. Your Bike Packing Adventure concludes at the airport. Collect your bike bag from the airport storage, pack for return flight or proceed for your onward journey.

Important Notes
~ A depositof 30% is required at the time of booking. Deposit paid is non-refundable unless trip is withdrawn or cancelled by Taiji Cycling/Travel Wander.
~ Full or balance payment is 60 days prior to departure.
~ Only book your air ticket to Osaka, Japan when you have been informed to do so.
~ Group size: minimum 6 cyclists, maximum 10 cyclists.
~ Should you require a visa to enter Japan, it is your responsibility to obtain such document before departure. Check your entry requirement and apply for your visa HERE if you require.
~ For cyclists who are travelling alone and have opted for twin-share occupancy, Taiji Cycling/Travel Wander will do our utmost to pair you with another cyclist of the same gender to share the room. If this is not possible, cyclists are required to top up the difference for a single room. Should you choose not to go on this trip, there is no refund of the deposit paid.
~ Every effort is made to ensure the trip and included experiences take place during the ideal time or period of the year, however certain sights are subject to weather conditions and seasonal variations that are not within the control of Taiji Cycling/Travel Wander. Although you may get to see and/or experience, we cannot guarantee the sightings.
~ Provision of meals during the trip showcases local authenticity, cuisine and food culture of the places we are visiting. All food allergies and dietary restrictions must be disclosed to Taiji Cycling/Travel Wander at the time of booking. We will use reasonable efforts to accommodate special requirements or requests but this is not always possible given the nature of the destinations visited and availability of options. We cannot guarantee that dietary needs or restrictions can be accommodated. Taiji Cycling/Travel Wander is not liable for failure to accommodate or fulfil such requests. Meal supplementary charges may be imposed to meet your dietary needs.
~ As you prepare for the bike packing adventure, we highly recommend at least 70km of accumulated cycling per week and have completed at least 1 overnighter bike packing adventure with TaiJi Cycling.
~ Our utmost priority is always the safety of the cyclists. Therefore inclusion of the itinerary may be altered due (not limited) to bad weather, local conditions, accommodation book out, the skill levels of the cyclists and/or other unexpected circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to make changes necessary and there will be no refund should you decide to discontinue with the trip.
~ As Bike Packing Adventure requires a significant level of cardio and physical exertion, it is not suitable for cyclists with chronic and/or acute disease. Please obtain your doctor’s advice to be fit for the activity before booking. Cyclists must ensure they are medically and physically able to cycle.
~ If the cyclist presents difficulty in completing the day’s ride, we strongly discourage the cyclist from continuing for the day with top priority on the safety of the cyclist and team in mind. Cyclist may require booking a private transfer at the cyclist’s own expense to fast track to the next accommodation. There is no refund on the uncompleted distance of the ride.
~ Cyclist may choose to terminate the ride early during the planned cycling day where possible. Or make it a rest day and fast track to the next accommodation. Cyclist may require to book a private transfer at the cyclist’s own expense. Should the cyclist wish to partake in other activities or sightseeing on the rest day, it will be at the cyclist’s own expense. There is no refund on this portion of the trip.
