This article provides a very good overview of Singapore resilience on energy. What it reflects is like Winds. Sometimes it blows, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes stronger, sometime weaker. Sometimes in one direction, sometimes in another. It has its own rythmn, mostly affected by the seasons. We may take notice, we may understand or we may not be aware of it, but it is there, it will happen and it will happen in its own time.
Timeline : (1973, 2008, 2022, 2026)
When there is only one data, it is only a point. Two, it forms a line, it provides a direction. Three, a pattern starts to form. More, it is showing a trend. The trend we see in this timeline is exponential and a convergence. It suggest we may be coming to a peak before everything may settles, like the waves hitting the shore.
We have a government that is forward planning and that has buffered us where we do not yet have to make drastic measures like many other countries. However, as much as we could plan, the Winds may blows beyond our anticipation or knowledge. When ? we don’t know and How? we also will not know. But when it happens, we will know.
While at the National level, the state level or the city level there are plan to help to buffer the impact. How about the personal level ? Our own resilience, is only ours to navigate. How little we think we will need, how little we can get by and how little we actually needed ? We can only find out for ourselves.
Those who have experienced bike packing, especially with me. Take a reflection and we can find alot of similar lessons we can draw from. I have done many bike packing adventures and many repeated ones. Every adventure will teach me something new, even on those repeated many times.
There are many kinds of Winds that are blowing in our life that we will encounter and have to deal with. In the Winds of Energy dependancy, cycling has taught me that it is the most efficient and least energy dependant form of mobility.
How little we need to maintain health and happiness in the Winds of our life can only be realised by ourselves. We will only know it when we have experienced it. The lesser we need, the better we can brace the Winds.
What is our persornal Resilience ?
