Brompton Adventures

When it comes to Cycling Adventures, I would like to have a special mention about Brompton. Therefore this post, Brompton Adventures.

I first got into cycling adventure with a full sized touring bike but started using Brompton in 2015 soon after I pick one up. Its compact package, rugged built and unconventional but useful ways of mounting bags makes it a very pratical bike for cycling adventures. Although its smallish wheels makes it looks like a kids bike, it rolls relatively very well for this purpose. It has since been my go to bike for cycling adventures especially for those involving flying.

As a professionally trained engineer that has spent all of my professional life conceptualising, designing and building solutions, I marvel at Brompton’s design when I first got my hands on it and studied into it. It has such intricate details on so many parts, yet, when put together delivers a complete simple bicycle that addresses every practical usecase. Ingineous ! This demonstration of the principle that everything is connected in its complexity but yet is simple in its manifestation is something that is very much close to my own heart. Therefore my affinity with this little bike.

So in almost every cycling adventure I do, you will almost certainly see a Brompton. It is a pity though that since I started Brompton Cycling Adventures in 2015 when every brompton owner mostly used it to ride to cafe for social occasion. It is encouraging to see more Brompton owners bringing their Brompton overseas for rides. There are Brompton tourers, but these are far and few.

Brompton Bike Packing Adventures is something close at heart that I would love to see more doing. I am most happy to enable more to step out to try it through offering services to lead, guide or train for different levels of adventures.

You may find more Brompton Adventures here . . .
